Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
Stick ("Stick," "we," "us") makes the Stick app for ranking golf courses, logging rounds and sharing them with friends. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email support@stickclubhouse.com.
Information you give us
- Account details: the email address or phone number you sign up with. If you continue with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email address and an account identifier from them. Apple lets you hide your email, in which case we only see a relay address.
- Profile: your name, username, home city and state, handicap, bio, profile photo, home clubs, and the clubs in your bag ("WITB").
- Rankings and rounds: the courses you rank and the scores you give them, the rounds you log (date played, tees, score), notes, and the photos and videos you add.
- Social activity: who you follow, likes, saved courses ("Want to play"), comments, and direct messages.
- Course information you add: courses or tee sets you add, and reports of incorrect course information.
- Safety: reports you file about posts, comments, messages or players; players you block; and when you agreed to our Community Guidelines.
- Support: anything you send us when you contact support.
Information collected automatically
- Location (only if you allow it): Stick asks for your location "while using the app" to show the golf courses nearest you and sponsored posts from nearby courses. Choosing nearby sponsored posts happens on your phone. To list nearby courses, your phone sends your approximate coordinates to our servers for that one search; we don't save them. You can turn location off at any time in your phone's settings, and Stick still works.
- Sponsored posts: when a sponsored post is shown to you or you tap it, we record that it happened, so we can tell advertisers how many people saw their post. Advertisers receive totals only, never who you are.
- Technical data: like any app, our servers receive basic technical information (such as IP address, device type and app version) when your phone connects, which is used to run and secure the service.
We do not use third-party analytics or advertising SDKs, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
How we use your information
- To run Stick: sign you in, save your rankings and rounds, build your profile, feed and Archive, and calculate the Stick Score and leaderboards.
- To show your activity to the people you share it with (see below).
- To show sponsored posts that are relevant to where you are or your home state.
- To keep Stick safe: review reports, enforce our Community Guidelines and Terms, and prevent abuse.
- To respond to you when you contact support, and to send account messages such as sign-in codes.
- To improve Stick, for example by fixing course and tee information players report.
Who can see what you share
- Other Stick players can see your profile (name, username, photo, home city, handicap, bio, home clubs and WITB), your rankings and the posts you share to the feed, and comments you leave. Rounds you mark "Archive only" stay off the feed.
- Your follower and following lists are visible to others unless you turn them off in Settings → Privacy. Follower counts are always shown.
- Direct messages are visible only to you and the person you're messaging. They are stored on our servers (they are not end-to-end encrypted), and we may review a message if it is reported to us.
- Your rankings contribute, anonymously, to each course's Stick Score.
- Blocked players can't see your profile or posts, comment on them, or message you.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising. We share it only:
- With service providers that run Stick for us: Supabase (our database, sign-in and file storage), Google and Apple (if you choose to sign in with them), and the text-message and email providers that deliver sign-in codes. They may only use your information to provide their service to us.
- For legal reasons: if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our players, the public or Stick.
- If Stick changes hands: if Stick is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it. This policy will continue to apply.
Course data in Stick comes from public sources (OpenStreetMap and GolfCourseAPI). We don't send them any information about you.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → ⋯ → Settings → Delete account. This permanently deletes your profile, rankings, rounds, photos and videos, comments, messages, follows and other account data. Courses and tee sets you added for everyone stay in Stick without your name. Copies in our backups are removed on the backup provider's normal schedule. If you can't access the app, email support@stickclubhouse.com from the address on your account and we'll delete it for you.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, rankings and posts, or delete them, at any time in the app.
- Turn location access on or off in your phone's settings.
- Hide your follower and following lists in Settings → Privacy.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, by emailing support. Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU and UK), you may have additional rights; we'll honor requests as the law requires.
Security
We use industry-standard protections, including encrypted connections and database rules that limit each player to their own private data. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and keep your sign-in details private.
Children
Stick is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we'll update the date above and let you know in the app before they take effect.
